1 Stbd. Broadside

A real gem and an unusual design from the famed Cheoy Lee shipyard in Hong Kong.

The 33′ Clipper has all the beauty and traditional lines we’ve come to admire while also being a strong, stout and serious offshore ketch rigged voyager, too.

The former owner so loved “Hen Frigate” that when he relocated his business from Los Angeles to Coeur d’Alene nearly twenty years ago, he brought the boat with him.  After many previous trips out exploring the Pacific Coast, she then lived on that beautiful Idaho lake until we received her and trucked her to Seattle.  We all agreed she’s a boat that needed to get back out to sea, so now you can enjoy many fine seasons cruising the San Juans aboard her.

She has a replacement Volvo MD2040 diesel with very low hours, a very well made custom full boat cover to protect her through our rainy season and she’s ready to go.  We’ve just refinished her brightwork on the main cabin and cabin handrails, cap rails and aft pulpit.  We put in the labor – but you’ll get all the compliments looking sharp at the dock and under sail.

We had a full boat survey completed out of the water when she arrived in Seattle and she also got fresh bottom paint.  Everything is in good working order.  Her Volvo runs flawlessly and moves her along above 6 kts.  Her painted wood spars are in solid condition, the running rigging is all in good shape and she has varnished roller booms.  We’ll provide you with our marine survey (with your offer) to save you considerable costs for another haul and surveyor’s fees — plus you’re all set for securing insurance as well.

[“Hen Frigate” is the traditional U.S. Navy designation for any vessel on which the Captain’s wife is aboard.]

We are quite selective about the vessels we accept into our program and pursue a very rigorous process before they are listed for sale.  This begins with our preliminary introduction when we meet with the donor to discuss the condition and upkeep of their boat.  Once accepted, each new arrival undergoes a thorough examination, similar to what a marine surveyor will do.  This allows us to prioritize our attention to deferred maintenance and any repairs that may be needed.

Over the years we’ve performed just about every kind of marine repair; from simple electrical and plumbing issues to all types of appearance enhancements to even rebuilding engines.  If something is not working right we fix it, simple as that.  We prove that her electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems are correct, safe and functioning properly. By doing all this, we know these boats quite well – top to bottom – and present them fairly and honestly to buyers.  We encourage you to have our boats professionally surveyed as a part of your purchase process; by the time we’ve finished and the boat is advertised here, we are confident you’ll receive a strong report from your surveyor.

Thank you for considering PMF boats in your search !
