Grand Banks Laguna 39

Grand Banks Laguna 39

First introduced in 1971, this unusual “Laguna” design built by Grand Banks is one of just seventy-one boats  in the 11.5 meter length. The replacement model was the Eastbay design built in the mid-nineties.  She was re-powered in 1998 with twin turbo Cummins 6BTA, each 330 HP. These replacements have less than 500 hours on them and both gearboxes have been rebuilt as well.

Layout: Swim platform with transom steps and a waist-high transom rail for safety while fishing from the spacious aft cockpit, aft deck with live bait tank and ice hold for the catch.  Small drawers and storage for fishing gear, stainless and teak ladder to covered flybridge helm and access to lazarette and storage space below the aft deck.

A sliding door to the main salon with a convertible single berth, a small functional galley to port side with lower helm to starboard.  The centerline companionway leads down to a spacious head with a separate shower stall on the starboard side, a midship stateroom with lower double and upper twin, vanity and storage on the port side.  Ahead to hanging lockers on starboard then forward to vee berth.  She has very good storage throughout and typical Grand Banks quality finishing in the cabinetry. She’s even got some crazy 70’s foil wallpaper decor below decks…a must see!

Extensive yard work completed over the the past two years have made her ‘like new’ below the waterline.  We spent the last few weeks of summer doing interior and exterior detailing, some re-wiring and general electrical systems clean up, installed a new 110/12v helm panel and battery switches, inverter, replaced batteries and  some new fixtures, and replaced the Raymarine radar monitor and Lowrance HDS plotter heads.

She’s a single purpose design that’s laid out for serious fishing adventures…absolutely ready to go strong – all day long – in tough offshore conditions.

If you’re looking for a serious high performance fishing boat with the accomodations of a yacht, come see this unusual boat soon.
