SalishTrader

The 42′ Grand Banks trawler is a true “Classic”, the standard for all other designs that followed.

This “Salish Trader” is in excellent condition. She was very well maintained by her former owner over twenty years and spent all of those years under cover in cold, fresh water. She has only 1,650 hours on her twin Lehmans and also has an Onan 7.5kw genset.

The interior finishes are excellent and the cabinetry is first-rate.  She shows very little wear to her interior which was thoroughly deep-cleaned again last month.  The ample dining settee was recently in a plush off-white and all of the bunk mattresses have been recently recovered in a pleasant plum fabric.  The white vinyl flybridge cushion set is in very fine shape.

The boat was hauled for a hull survey in May 2011. While on the hard she got new bottom paint and zincs, the flybridge deck and boat deck were repainted as well.  The exterior bulwarks have been refinished and the cap rail and handrails varnished in summer 2011 also.

During the recent great summer weather of August and September our crew devoted close to 800 (!) man-hours to a total refinish of the house and inner bulwarks.  That work is complete and she looks absolutely beautiful.  She got two coats of Interlux gloss white topcoat and four coats of varnish on the trim work.  The new exterior photos taken last week (Oct. 2012) are shown below – although you have to see it for yourself.  If you were aboard the boat earlier, then you owe it to yourself to take another good, long look at her.  We’re proud of the results and happy to know that another one of these wonderful Grand Banks trawlers has now received the kind of attention they deserve.  If you’re serious about owning a 42′ —  you’ve got to see this one now.

“Salish Trader” is an exceptional example of this aft cabin design.  She would make a great liveaboard for a couple as well as a fabulous cruising boat for the beautiful Northwest late summer and fall days ahead.
